Monument Bank provides customers with ‘service beyond expectations’
by Janine Logue
It used to be that your neighborhood bankers were just that, your neighbors. They lived in and cared about the community that they served.
There was a time when you knew your banker by name and he or she knew your name.
Somewhere along the line we went from community bank to faceless national chain. Gone where the days of personal accountability and individual service.
That was, until February 22, 2008, the day that Monument Bank opened its doors to Doylestown area residents and businesses.
John Soffronoff, President and Chief Executive Officer of Monument Bank, realized that the Doylestown area was dominated by large banks that couldn’t offer the kind of customer service that a community bank could.
As a locally owned and operated independent bank, Monument Bank has the opportunity to work with their clients on an individual basis, providing them with personalized, professional service.
Though Monument Bank is new its employees are experienced bank professionals.
“We have 16 employees right now, and 13 of us worked together at another bank,” said Chris Nardo, Vice President and Manager of Monument Bank.
Another major difference between Monument Bank and their larger competitors, Monument has a clean balance sheet. While many banks are in trouble right now due to the sub-prime mortgage crisis, Monument remains strong.
Monument Bank never invested in sub-prime mortgages.
Monument is chartered in Pennsylvania, FDIC insured and a member of the Federal Reserve System.
Monument Bank also offers a full range of bank services, including business and consumer checking, saving, and money market accounts, among others. They also offer both business and consumer loans.
Monument Bank took its name from the 104th Regiment Pennsylvania Civil War monument, which has been located in the heart of Doylestown since 1868.
In a show of respect for their namesake, John and his team held their building dedication on May 30th, the same day that the monument was dedicated.
Monument Bank is currently located at 573 N. Main St. but will be moving in to their newly constructed location at 465 N. Main St. on June 29th.

“Doylestown is a vibrant community, despite the current economy,” said John. Doylestown deserves a bank that can provide ‘Service Beyond Expectations.” |
