Training Courses and Book
FAST
is prepared to offer several different courses to provide
technical training for our customers' employees. These
courses cover the metallurgical aspects of sintering,
including how various alloys and process variables effect
the physical and mechanical properties of the P/M compact
during sintering, and the effects of atmosphere variables
on the finished compact, as well as a simple method
used to monitor the sintering process, and different
clues that will help solve some processing problems
very cost effectively, etc. Also, we can train your
laboratory technicians in your own laboratory in such
subjects as metallography (sample selection, preparation
and analysis), microhardness testing, etc.
The courses can vary from a one day seminar to in-house
classes on a weekly basis, that can go 8 weeks to a
year or longer. They are definitely geared for the non-metallurgist
and will be designed to fit your particular operation.
Why send one or two people to a two or three day seminar
when we can train several employees at your facility
at a considerable cost savings? We have been teaching
in one particular facility for over a year and the program
has been very successful. (We have been authorized by
that company to use them as a reference. Please call
Jim Marsden @ 814-427-2228 and I will be happy to supply
the contact to call).
We
also offer our recently published book, Simplified Guide
for Sintering Ferrous Powdered Metal Compacts, which
can be used as a self-teaching manual, since it has
question and answer sections in each chapter. It is
also a great non-technical guide for anyone interested
in the basics of P/M sintering and problem solving.
It also covers powders, atmospheres, and preparation
of metallographic specimens. Price $20.00 plus shipping
and handling.
See
"Technical Presentations"
for more details on the subject matter used.
